The Florida Outpouring: Three Tech Ideas To Speed the Spread of Revival

Burning BushThere’s fire in the air.  I’m more excited than I’ve ever been about the prospects of the move of God’s spirit that’s taking place down in Lakeland.  My prayer is that it spread as far and as quickly as possible.  That being said, here are a few things that we can all do to help spread the impact of that great healing revival:

1) Twitter updates of healing real time.  Who doesn’t have twitter, right?  Why not use it to update your followers in real time about the fantastic healing anointing of the Lord, and the work that He’s doing at the Lakeland outpouring.  You may just peak the interest of your followers enough to convince them to tune in to the live feed.  Who knows what might happen then.

2) Cut some clips and put them on Youtube.  If you’re planning on attending the Lakeland Outpouring, why not use those high tech cell phones to cut some clips of the healing action and upload them to youtube.  As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.  I believe that a thirty second clip of somebody’s leg growing straight is worth a hundred years of preaching.

3) Mass email the feed information.  Maybe, if you’re especially tech savvy, you could set up a video feed viewing party, complete with offsite intercessory chat room and all.  All of the technology that you’d need to pull it off is currently available as freeware, so there’s nothing to hold you back.  Get your extended family from Oklahoma on the line and share the power of the healing anointing with them.  You may just see the Lord do a miracle in your family.

The folks ministering at the Florida outpouring will be the first to tell you that they don’t want to keep this thing a secret.  They’re giving it away.   We should do everything in our power to spread the word.

Teen Mania Challenges Teens to “Let Their Voice Be Heard” At Acquire The Fire Atlanta

Acquire the Fire AtlantaI loaded up the van and took my youth group to Acquire the Fire in Atlanta last weekend.  We had a great experience and all, but I was surprised to learn that Teen Mania and Ron Luce are pushing technology in an attempt to have this generation “Let their voices be heard.”

Ron talked about blogging, video podcasting, youtube, and many other ideas for spreading the gospel through the innovative use of technology.  Our only reply was, “Dude, that’s what we’ve been saying!”

We are firm believers in the idea that the church should be on the cutting edge of innovation and technological advancement.  Seems like we’re doing exactly the opposite at the moment, so we welcome the voice of Teen Mania proclaiming with slightly more influence than us the value of embracing technology for evangelism.

If you’ve never been, take your kids to Acquire the Fire.  You’ll like what you see.

3 Powerful Headline Tips to Lure the Lost

Reaching the LostReaching the lost with a Christian blog can be a tricky endeavor.  For the most part, people don’t really care about your devotional series until they are already saved, so those types of blogs have limited application for reaching the lost.  Can it happen?  Of course.  The Gospel in any form is capable of reaching the lost any time, anywhere.   It just helps if you write some separate posts geared towards reaching the lost.  Here are three headline writing tips for reaching the lost:

1) Think about what your reader is interested in: Writing headlines like “The Glorious Grace of our Great God” will probably get you an A+ in seminary, but you’ll flunk with flying colors on the internet.  Instead, try writing cool headlines that relate to what people might actually search for.  Here are a few of examples from another blog that I frequent:

How To Find The Perfect Man In One Day Guaranteed

How To Lose 20 Pounds In One Day

What Trump Didn’t Tell You About Getting Rich

The vast majority of people are going to click off once they’ve read the first few lines and figure out that the post is actually about Jesus, but the law of averages is fully in effect.  If enough people come, it’s bound to catch someone eventually.

2) Use Yahoo frequent search terms: In order to execute the strategy we just talked about, you’ll need to know what people are actually searching for.  Go to Yahoo! and look at the bottom right hand corner, and you’ll see today’s most popular searches.  Now, figure out a way to wrap those search terms around the gospel and you’re golden.

3) Use words that convey a sense of urgency: This is a good tip for writing any headline, not just those geared towards the lost.  If you add emotional words you can make it seem like an urgent thing for somebody to click on your link.  The result is more lost people reading the Gospel on your site.  Here are a few example:

Three Life and Death Secrets to….

Five Things You Must Know…..

Three Secret Ways To…..

You get the idea.  Now, get out there and reach some lost people.
