Teen Mania Challenges Teens to “Let Their Voice Be Heard” At Acquire The Fire Atlanta
May 13th, 2008 Categories: E-Vangelism, Technology for Pastors
I loaded up the van and took my youth group to Acquire the Fire in Atlanta last weekend. We had a great experience and all, but I was surprised to learn that Teen Mania and Ron Luce are pushing technology in an attempt to have this generation “Let their voices be heard.”
Ron talked about blogging, video podcasting, youtube, and many other ideas for spreading the gospel through the innovative use of technology. Our only reply was, “Dude, that’s what we’ve been saying!”
We are firm believers in the idea that the church should be on the cutting edge of innovation and technological advancement. Seems like we’re doing exactly the opposite at the moment, so we welcome the voice of Teen Mania proclaiming with slightly more influence than us the value of embracing technology for evangelism.
If you’ve never been, take your kids to Acquire the Fire. You’ll like what you see.

I agree. We have got to lead the charge in using technology to reach this generation. They live online. We have to be where they live.
Do you have any testimonies from the weekend (students that responded to the Lord for the 1st time, etc)? What was your favorite time at the event?
Thank you for bringing your group to the ATF. We hope that the weekend provides a launching pad for your students to fall (or continue) to fall passionately in love with our Savior. Let me know if there is anything we can do serve along side you as you reach out to students in your area. Again, thank you for allowing us to partner with you in reaching this generation.
Well, we had a couple of hard cases that definitely got something at the event. It is a dynamic presentation of the Gospel.
The Bema was a pretty effective tool for seeding the idea of accountability in eternity to our kids. That’s priceless as far as a youth pastor is concerned.
My students are also provoked each year to live out their faith each year after going to ATF. It also sparks them to have a heart for global evangelism. I am taking my students to the Soar Conference (www.soarconference.com) Teen Mania is hosting this November.
